The Keepers of Warden’s Rest

FROM BATTLE-HARDENED WARRIOR TO RELUCTANT TEACHER: A HILARIOUS FANTASY ADVENTURE

Ten books. One academy. A disaster-prone team worth fighting for.

He thought he’d left the battlefield behind. Now he has to survive teenagers.

After fifty years of war, ex-centurion Alden Voss wanted nothing more than a quiet retirement as a janitor. Instead, he’s stuck teaching combat to a band of magical misfits who are more dangerous to themselves than any enemy.

When threats rise and the defenses crumble, Alden and his chaotic students become the last line of defense. To save his school—and maybe the world—he must turn disaster into destiny… one lesson at a time.

older soldier, retired, figured life for a few more years of calm solid days. students with all the 'magic academy' vibes. What happens when it suddenly stops being calm and you are summarily unretired. I like the pacing and the ethics of this story. It is also fun, fast paced and will satisfy all the LiTRPG' ers. So action, uplifting themes and an older MC. Not particularly complex, so almost Isekie. Simple plot. at least in book 1 Book is short but you won't mind as it is complete and a good intro to the world and setting. Glad it is a series.

What a fun and interesting premise. I’m reaching the age where more mature protagonists are appealing and Alden fits that. He’s the janitor in a school training students in magic. But when things go very wrong and the school is at risk, he turns out to have hidden strengths. These are short books, so I’m off to find out what happens next.
